Family’s grief as tragic dad killed on trip

- BY MARTYN HALLE

A FAMILY is in mourning for a dad who died abroad – a year after losing his young daughter to an incurable disease.

Tragic Martin Rich, 34, is believed to have been killed in a fall in Athens.

In 2017 his six-year-old daughter Lyla Mae lost her battle with a rare genetic condition, Non-ketotic hyperglycinemia, which causes frequent seizures.

Martin’s son Jensen, five, also has the condition.

Four years ago the restaurant boss from Sleaford, Lincs, was injured in a crash in a car park.

His wife Michaela, 31, said: “I feel so lost without him, he was my soulmate.”

The family is trying to raise €10,000 to bring home Martin, who has two older sons aged 12 and 11, and pay for his funeral.
