As autumn draws in and the spooky season approaches, it’s saf to say that some of us are more excited than others – and kid love i too!

As well as giving us the chance to scare the neighbours witles and dress up in silly costumes, Halloween is a great time to explor one of th most nderapprec­iated of vegetable th pumpkin.

By this stage we’ve all become somewhat used to the butternu squash and all its many uses – roasted, souped and even as a pizz topping – but it’s larger relative remains a creepy-faced Hallowee decoration or pi filling.

Well this year, we’re going to try to redress the balance and sho! you that pumpkins, as members of the squash family, are every bi as versatile and delicious as ny of th others.
