Diego’s ‘shot knees need substitutes’
Maradona DIEGO Maradona needs artificial knees to help him walk, says his surgeon.
The Argentine football legend, 58, notorious for his “hand of God” goal v England in the 1986 World Cup, has severe arthritis.
Dr German Ochoa said: “There’s no solution for arthritis. It leads to destruction of the cartilage and gets worse if not dealt with. Diego has no cartilage left in both joints. His bones rub together, causing him a lot of pain and swelling.
“He won’t be left unable to walk but this is making it difficult for him to move.
“Knee replacement ops are the solution. Diego knows he must decide, as we’ve spoken of it often.”
