Roast your lamb to kill salmonella

-

Pink okay, red not Meat eaters have been warned to cook their lamb properly after a spike in salmonella cases in sheep.

Cases of the strain first started to appear in July last year, with nearly 300 people affected since then.

Food Standards Agency officials urged people to wash their hands after handling raw meat and to ensure all diced and minced lamb was cooked throughout.

Steaks, chops and joints are safe to be cooked fully on the outside and left a bit pink in the middle.
