Vitamin pills don’t cure ills

WE spend millions a year on useless supplements and vitamin pills, an expert has said.

Dr Paul Clayton, formerly on the Committee on the Safety of Medicines, wants stricter rules.

He said: “Around 90 per cent of the supplement industry consists of companies selling unvalidated, poorly formulated, over-hyped products which offer few, if any, benefits.”
