Auction good buys end up in goodbyes
ONLINE auction site ebay says people are recycling fashion to save both cash and the environment.
The firm said 20.6million items of clothing and accessories had been sold so far this year.
Tops and shirts were the most commonly sold items, followed by dresses and children’s clothes.
The firm said people had adopted a “one in, one out” rule so they sell old clothes when buying new ones.
Nikin Patel, of ebay, said: “As people become more conscious about creating a sustainable cycle of fashion and reducing waste, we provide an easy way to give items a second life.”
