Stevie G in search for silver
STEVEN GERRARD goes into his first semi-final as a manager today, desperate to end Rangers’ sevenyear wait for silverware.
His men take on Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup with Gerrard fully aware a victory takes them one step closer to easing the agony of players, staff and fans who have suffered since the club’s meltdown in 2012.
“I’d like to hope that winning a trophy here would be the catalyst for a different era,” said the Liverpool and England legend, preparing for the trip to Hampden.
“This club’s been fragile in recent years, very up and down.
“So when you start something fresh you try to build momentum and togetherness. You try to start a journey.
“Then you hope that journey takes you to places you want to be. Places the fans want to get to and where this club belonged many years ago.”
