Woman found dead at house leads to probe

A GARDA probe has been launched after the body of a woman was discovered outside a house in Athlone on Friday night.

The grim discovery was made when the woman, who was aged in her 30s, was discovered dead outside a house at Grace Park Road in the Co Westmeath town at 9.15pm.

Gardai sealed off the scene in the quiet housing estate and conducted door to door enquiries.

A post mortem examination was due to take place at the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar last night which a Garda spokeswoman said will determine the course of the investigation.
