Game
Fallout 76 Ps4/windows/xbox One The wait is finally over for Fallout fans to once more explore the postapocalyptic nuclear deserts of America. But this isn’t like any of Bethesda’s previous ventures. Developers have dropped a nuke into the old format. Fallout 76 takes you right back to the beginning - the year 2102 in an alternative version of history.
And this time the entire map is multiplayer, each human character is played by another person.
It makes for some bizarre encounters but bad behaviour – randomly killing people – is punished by a bounty being put on your head. The game environment looks and feels almost perfect. Its biggest drawback seems to be lack of any meaningful dialogue or storyline.
Fortunately, with base building, a new scrap system and character personalisation, players are given enough of a blank canvas to decide the game’s future.
So the potential is limitless.
