Dom’s new hunger for more goals
STRIKER Dominic Calvertlewin is eating his way to more goals for Everton and England Under-21s.
He has been ordered to beef up his physique to become more of a handful for defenders.
The 6ft 2in star says he is still growing and sports scientists at Goodison Park want to keep his energy levels high.
He is set to lead the line for England U-21s against Denmark next week and be part of their bid to add a European Championship to his U-20 World Cup win.
Calvert-lewin, 21, said: “It all stemmed from when I went through a period of games around Christmas and I became a little bit fatigued after that period, so the dietician looked at what I was taking in.
“I was eating quite a lot at the time and couldn’t eat much more! He said I had to find a way, for energy and things like that.
“I think I feel a lot healthier and better now.
“My diet has remained healthy, but I am trying to eat more because I find it hard to put on weight.
“It’s eggs and toast in the morning and then probably chicken, fish, pasta for lunch, a protein shake after training, chicken wraps in the afternoon and then a similar dinner to lunch.”
Calvert-lewin says England are ready to put down a marker at U-21 level after several tournament near-misses.
