O’neill: Obafemi still has work to do

But Ireland boss Martin O’neill said: “We’ll see whether he does or doesn’t play. He has made the decision but he has work to do.”

Eligible for Nigeria and England, the 18-year-old clarified his internatio­nal intentions before kick-off in Thursday’s dour draw with Northern Ireland.

He insisted he was “all in” with the Boys in Green but O’neill decided to leave him on the bench at Aviva Stadium.

“When he first came into camp, I said to him “We’d love to have you but it’s your decision. You’re under no pressure to make that decision.”
