- BY MIRROR REPORTER

technicians worked to fix the glitch. A total of nine flights were diverted to Shannon, Birmingham, Belfast and Liverpool and four were cancelled. A statement issued on the airport’s website at the time of the suspension said: “Flight operations have been temporarily suspended at Dublin Airport due to an issue with the Irish Aviation Authority’s radar system.

“Currently no flights are landing or taking off. We will provide updates as soon as they become available.”

The problem was later resolved by the IAA, who said they were confident the backlog would not run into today. A Dublin Airport ground to a halt yesterday morning spokesman said: “The IAA confirms the outage which resulted in an interruption to service at Dublin airport from 8.20am till 9.35am has been resolved. “The cause of the issue was identified and a full air traffic control service has been restored. “The IAA is satisfied the resulting backlog will be cleared today and passengers are advised to check with their airline for details of departures and arrivals.” news@irishmirror.ie
