Video gamer kids racking up huge bills

Lad on a console KIDS’ video games are landing shocked parents with huge bills of hundreds of euro.

And parents are warned they could be legally liable for the credit spending by children using card details stored for accounts linked to games consoles.

Kids are tempted to buy in-game currency such as FIFA Points or Fortnite’s V-bucks while playing.

Legal advisers ARAG said parents cannot always fall back on usual protection­s credit cards provide.

“It may be hard to claim a purchase is unauthoris­ed and a parent hasn’t been negligent in taking care of an account,” said ARAG’S Hector Stamboulie­h.
