Boozy mums’ crash start to driving lesson

- BY JOHN KELLY

TWO boozy mums crashed a car as one gave the other her first driving lesson – even though neither had a licence.

Jane Maggs, 42, was showing pal Kelly Shone, 35, how to start her MG3 parked on her drive.

But it shot off backwards as Maggs released the clutch while Stone operated the gears and ploughed into a car on the other side of the road before hitting a brick wall in Eccles, Gtr Manchester.

Maggs admitted drink driving with no licence or insurance and was banned for 18 months.

Shone got a 12 month ban for aiding and abetting drink driving. Both were fined £180.

As she left the court, mum-of-five Maggs said: “I never want to drive again.”
