Real rumbles in the jungle

SCIENTISTS have come up with a new way of tracking elephants using earthquake studying techniques.

Oxford researchers found the mammals create vibrations through movements and vocalisations, known as “rumbles”.

Seismological software that incorporates geological information was combined with algorithms to produce estimates of the elephants movements.
