Chef Tom lifts lid on ‘chaos’ drinking days
The old Tom TV chef Tom Kerridge has revealed that in his drinking days he would down a pint of Negroni after work “just as a starter”.
Kerridge, 45, said he became alcohol dependent as he made a success of his pub, which now has two Michelin stars.
On Desert Island Discs, on BBC Radio 4, he said: “I would always be the last man standing. I miss that guy. I miss the chaos and the fun. But I can’t.”
Now teetotal, he said: “Alcohol was a huge release from driving a thriving business forward.
“You know you have gone beyond that when you drive around with a case of beer and a bottle of gin in your boot.”
