“A friend told me a day later that there was an event on in Marbella with a Platinum Pass as a prize so I flew out on the Friday and won the Pass on the Saturday. “I won $44,000 but you could have given me $100,000 and it wouldn’t have made happier than winning the Platinum Pass. It meant more than money. “I have a clear passion for the game. I don’t have a wife or kids, so finding out I had won the Platinum Pass was the happiest day of my life. “And I feel very proud to be from the North. “I can guarantee you that if one of us from Team Ireland makes the final table, our people will make the most noise.”
