CHIEFS TORMENTED
EXETER director of rugby Rob Baxter accepted that his side’s European campaign was virtually over as they crashed to a 27-19 defeat.
Gloucester were deserved winners with tries from Willi Heinz, Jaco Visagie and Ben Morgan as Danny Cipriani kicked two penalties and two conversions.
Exeter’s tries came from Nic White, Tom Lawday and Don Armand but they remain bottom of Pool 2 with three points from three games.
“There was no clarity of thinking and we made error after error,” Baxter said. “The repercussions from this game will take a lot of assessing.”
CHALLENGE Cup hopefuls Connacht saw off Perpignan 22-10 at The Sportsground thanks in part to tries from Bundee Aki, Darragh Leader and Kyle Godwin.
