MATT DOHERTY is convinced Morgan Gibbs-white will be no flash-in-the-pan – but has warned the teenager against thinking he has made it.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a stunning full debut as Wolves gave Chelsea a 2-1 jolt in midweek, confirming the youngster’s cameos off the bench have been no fluke.

Doherty added: “Morgan got his start, made a huge impact and a lot of people are talking about him. At his age, for that many to be chatting about him, it can’t be easy.

“Not many 18-year-olds play against Chelsea like that. If he starts again, he’s got to play like that again – a lot of youngsters come in and fade away.”

Doherty added: “It will be a tactical battle with Newcastle.

“I’ve seen them play three at the back. They might match us up.”
