Freddie’s ex-fiancee to net €45m from movie biopic
FREDDIE Mercury’s ex-fiancee is set for a €45million windfall from the success of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Mary Austin, who still lives in the Queen singer’s €20million West London mansion, was left half of his future earnings after his death.
The star – who died in 1991 – described her as the “love of my life” but many people knew very little about Mary before Bohemian Rhapsody hit screens last year.
The late Queen singer’s “common-law” wife is an extremely private woman but was thrown back into the limelight on foot of the movie starring Rami Malek.
The biopic scooped best film at the Golden Globes last weekend and has made almost €670million.
