Sofa so good, Sinead O’carroll can’t wait to get started filling in for Ireland AM host Ciara
Clare Mckenna was thought to be the front runner for the slot having regularly filled in for Ciara and her co-stars Mark Cagney and Alan Hughes.
But we can exclusively reveal Sinead will be first to temporarily fill the vacancy on the sofa.
Sinead told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “I’m really looking forward to starting my mornings in the Ireland AM studio.
“It’s always a fun, bright, energising place. I get to do the job I love – helping people to tell their stories. I also get to be a companion to people as they start their own days.” Sinead is no stranger to Virgin Media having previously stepped in for Ivan Yates alongside Matt Cooper on The Tonight Show. Ciara, who announced her pregnancy live on air last June, replaced Sinead Desmond on Ireland AM when she left suddenly after 11 years in 2017. Leaving her role a week-and-a-half early, her departure has left a presenting position open which will be filled by several faces over the next few months.
