Girl, 6, letter to cops over 999 call error
A GIRL of six who dialled 999 by accident on New Year’s Eve on her mother’s phone has written a letter of apology to police.
Izzy Vardy’s mum got a call from Nottinghamshire Police after the girl hit the emergency call button on the locked mobile.
Izzy, of Annesley, said her mum was “very cross” as it could have stopped someone getting help.
The letter, sent along with a box of biscuits, read: “I’m so so sorry to you and my mummy and daddy.
“We have chatted and I understand you only ring 999 in an emergency.”
The force thanked Izzy and her parents “for understanding what we do”.
