There’s a big chill in the air at the London Stadium as Arnautovic goes cold on life at the Hammers

West Ham 1 Arsenal 0

After West Ham had beaten Arsenal in the early TV game, manager Pellegrini admited that he does not know if talisman striker Arnautovic will stay at the club.

The 29-year-old Austria international was the subject of a £35million bid from Chinese side Shanghai SIPG last week.

And brother Danijel, who is also his agent, revealed that the star wants the Hammers to accept the offer. As he was substituted a f t e r 7 0 m i n u t e s , Arnautovic walked off to a mixture of jeers and cheers from the home fans. Then there was a grudging handshake with Pellegrini, terrible body language and no eye contact.

Asked about the situation, the Hammers boss said: “We will see what happens in the next few days and I hope he will take the best decision.

“I have been in this position a lot of times in my 30 years, but I am calm even though nothing is 100 per cent sure.”

Declan Rice scored the winner, with his first goal for West Ham.

Pellegrini added: “I am sure Declan will be a top player.” IT WAS a cold afternoon at the London Stadium... but nowhere frostier than this exchange between Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Pellegrini.
