TOON SHAME

IT’S shameful that Newcastle United’s internal probe into bullying and racism allegations against youth coach Peter Beardsley is now a year old. The silence from St James’ Park is deafening. The lack of progress disturbing. Serious accusations levelled at Beardsley (left) – which he denies – remain unresolved. If Newcastle are incapable of concluding their investigation, then the football authorities must act to end this embarrassing impasse.
