MICHAEL FLYNN was less than impressed after seeing his side give up a late lead.

Jordan Bowery had opened the scoring for Crewe, but Antoine Semenyo and Padraig Amond looked to have won it for Newport before Chris Porter and Callum Ainley struck late on to take all three points.

“We can’t defend. It is as simple as that,” said Flynn. “It was inexcusable.”

Crewe boss Dave Artell said: “The character we showed won us that game.”
