Resident Evil 2 remake PS4 This might easily be the best classic remake on next-gen consoles.

Developers could simply have added a few textures and slightly tweaked the old formula while charging £50 for a game you can pick up on ebay.

But instead they’ve rebuilt the storyline and gameplay from the ground up. Graphics are next gen, the sound is eerily awesome and gameplay is polished to perfection.

But the storyline retains its charm, while most of the annoyances – saving with ribbons and lack of any map – have been erased. As Leon the displaced cop, creeping around corners with your torch has never been so terrifying. Players can also select Claire, who has a different story entirely.

Part of the missions have been developed so you have a feel for what’s coming – but just enough has changed to keep you on your toes.

A must-buy for fans – and anyone else who can stomach it.
