Fergie funds bid to school disaster kids
Duchess of York THE Duchess of York is to call for more funding to educate disaster-struck children following a charity trip to Sierra Leone.
Sarah Ferguson will tell Britain’s House of Lords on Tuesday how 75 million youngsters worldwide have been left without schooling.
Fergie, 59, said: “What struck me in Sierra Leone was that every single child or parent I met, no matter the tragedy or the hardship that they had suffered, all shared the same top priority – children wanted to go to school.”
The Duchess, a founding patron of charity Street Child, will open an Education in Emergencies discussion highlighting how education in disaster zones receives less than 2% of humanitarian aid. Prince Philip
