saw a motley crew descend on India to spread their own brand of joy among the unsuspecti­ng locals. This time round Stanley Johnson is joined by incorrigib­le thespian Miriam Margolyes, Three Degrees singer Shirley Ferguson and ex-darts pro Bobby George. The first episode on Wednesday saw the group explore retirement in Russia’s cultural capital of St Petersburg with some awkward moments. Stanley’s pro-russian stance raised eyebrows, Miriam dubbed a woman at a bus stop “the beautiful spy” because her name was Olga and a trip to a Soviet era sanitorium almost tipped them over the edge.

The Real Marigold on Tour airs on BBC One on Wednesday at 9pm.

has ended on Channel 4 after four brilliant series. The relationsh­ip comedy, co-written by Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, was laugh-out-loud funny and packed an emotional punch. The finale saw Rob grieve his mother Mia, Sharon discover she was pregnant again and enigmatic ending. Horgan is now busy with projects in America. Let’s hope the move across the pond is not permanent – because that would be a real catastroph­e...
