How can I chit my seed potatoes? Sal, via email

DAVID: To chit seed potatoes just means encouraging them to sprout before planting. To do this, put them into an egg box in a cool, dry spot with indirect sunlight. Remove all but three or four of the eyes – the sprouting bits. After three weeks, when they are 1.5-2.5cm long, they will be ready to plant out.
