Carlow lost Martin Kavanagh through injury, as Waterford moved 2-7 to 0-7 ahead at half-time, with Shane Bennett netting Waterford’s third goal.

Meanwhile, Mark Kavanagh fired 10 points in Laois’s 3-17 to 2-16 win over Offaly.
