Sanchez: I’m worried man
ALEXIS SANCHEZ has admitted he is running out of time to prove he can handle being a Manchester United player.
In a brutally honest interview, the £400,000-a-week Chilean international has revealed how his poor form since arriving from Arsenal in a £30million deal just over a year ago is playing on his mind.
United splashed the cash to beat rivals Manchester City to his signature, but the 30-year-old has been a shadow of the player he was at the Emirates.
Sanchez said: “It worries me, because I believe in my abilities.
“I think that when a footballer no longer believes in his ability, it’s game over. I think it will come, but I don’t think there is time – a player like me needs to show it right now.
“I want to play, I want to get at defenders.”
Sanchez has made just 10 starts this season. But with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard both missing with injury for the visit to Chelsea, he is likely to be given a chance to shine at Stamford Bridge.
Sanchez added: “You’re in, you’re out – and I’m used to paying. It’s not an excuse, because if I go on for 10 or 20 minutes I have to perform. That’s what I’m here for, to make a difference.
“I just love to play all the time. I play football at home. I’d go and play in a garden right now because I love football. Football is what I’ve loved from being a kid and it’s my passion.”
