Diddy don’ty like Radio 2

DJ legend says station’s bid for young listeners is big turn-off

Flame-haried Olivia gets down to business with punters in the sketch show Bruiser Diddy, a BBC broadcaste­r for more than 50 years, reckons the station made a huge clanger when it hired Zoe Ball. He says the move – and others aimed at attracting a more Star David youthful audience – won’t work because young people stream their music now.

Diddy, 80, said: “Radio 2 are ignoring most of their listeners while trying to please a younger audience that probably isn’t Proud star Olivia with her Oscar there. People are complainin­g about Zoe Ball and her ‘shouty’ style.

“I love Zoe, but I think her style works better on television.” He added: “Young people don’t SHE’S a working girl with one eye on the prize. And she is smokin’... Some things have never changed for Olivia Colman. But as these pics from the past prove, the Oscar-winner has come a very long way since her first big acting break. Olivia played a scantily-clad, ciggywavin­g prostitute in little-known BBC2 sketch show Bruiser more than 20 years ago. Now the 45-year-old mum-ofthree – who picked up a Best Actress gong playing Queen Anne in The Favourite – is Hollywood royalty.
