Yellow Vests riot in Paris
FLAMES engulfed motorbikes and cars as Yellow Vest demonstrators lit fires across Paris yesterday.
Wealth inequality protesters wanted to remind the government that rebuilding the fire-ravaged Notre-dame Cathedral is not France’s only problem. Around 60,000 officers policed the protests against President Emmanuel Macron, with more than 100 arrests made and roads and subways stations shut.
Plumes of black smoke billowed over the city centre as officers used tear gas and dispersion grenades to control the crowds on the 23rd Saturday of Yellow Vest protests.
