Gun attack on state building in Afghan city
GUNMEN launched an attack on the Afghan ministry of information yesterday.
A source said there were three attackers, one of whom managed to get inside the building in the capital Kabul.
An explosion was heard near one of the city’s most popular hotels, a couple of other ministries, and the presidential palace.
Another of the attackers detonated his explosives at the boundary wall, and the third was shot dead by police.
Hundreds of civilians were evacuated from the 18-storey building. The attack follows the suspension of talks between the US and Taliban insurgents.
