Safety alert for motorists

GARDAI have urged drivers to take care on the roads over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

It comes after two Co Kildare motorists were arrested for driving while intoxicated on Friday night.

A total of 19 checkpoints were carried out as part of Operation Surround leading to five cars being seized and 45 other minor offences detected.

In North Kildare more than 500 motorists were breathalysed.
