Caged tiger mauls keeper in zoo horror

A ZOOKEEPER was last night fighting for her life after she was mauled by a tiger in front of tourists.

The terrified victim was attacked in a secure indoor space by a Sumatran tiger named Sanjiv.

The animal arrived at the Topeka Zoo in Kansas in August 2017.

The keeper has not been named and details of her injuries have not been released, but zoo director Brendan Wiley says she was conscious when she was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Topeka Zoo was closed immediatel­y after the mauling yesterday morning but reopened about 45 minutes later.
