Whiskey & Vic should taste glory
WILLIE Mullins looks the man to follow at Cork this afternoon where he has every chance of a double.
Among the trainer’s runners are Killultagh Vic who has been found a good opportunity in the Grade 3 Betway Chase.
This gelding didn’t make much of an impression in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham but this test looks much more suitable for him.
He hasn’t been at his best on his last two runs but his third to Presenting Percy at Gowran in January shows that he still retains much of his old ability.
In the conditions hurdle the Mullins-trained Whiskey Sour is an obvious choice following his fine run in the County Hurdle.
He finished off strongly at Cheltenham to take fourth in the County and if he runs to that form he will surely be able to deal with Campeador.
Offshore Oscar hails from a yard in good form and makes plenty of appeal in the three mile handicap hurdle.
Elsewhere Rathnure Rebel looks the most solid option in the beginners chase where he could have most to fear from the chasing newcomer Western Honour.
