Ryan clash gave me flashbacks

BHOYS DEFENDER WORRIED FOR PAL

- BY GORDON WADDELL

HIBERNIAN v CELTIC

The Norwegian suffered a fractured eye socket himself at Livingston back in November, forcing him out for over a month.

And he winced: “Obviously it reminded me of what happened to that day but I watched the impact and it was a lot worse to watch.

“The big difference with his and mine was I just fractured a few bones, but you saw the way Ryan (left) landed and hit his head, you just worrying about concussions and stuff as well.

“I think the fractures were bad but everything seems to be clear now. I went to visit him in hospital the other night with his missus, he’s had the surgery and from what I can gather it’s been successful , which is fantastic news. I know how painful an injury it is but hopefully he’ll be back as soon as possible.”

Ajer has gone from an in-andout utility man in the Hoops team to the indisposable core of their defence.

He shrugged: “When you play games for Celtic, the manager has put faith in you, then you have to show you’re capable of doing that.

“You’re never better than your last game and right now we have Hibs coming up, which means I have to perform and show I’m good enough to play for this massive club.

“Every game you play for Celtic is a big game.”
