Mary Lou won boy’s debate...

-

Kenny debate proves that the lads are really not that different.

It was obvious from the programme that both men would be fine with a coalition, without Sinn Fein, again crippling their position and heightening SF’S.

Are we supposed to believe there will be imminent changes to alleviate the rental mess, when 40% of TDS in the Dail are landlords?

Nothing will change if the two auld crony parties run the country in a coalition; they’ve merged into one in any case.

While four women have been appointed Tanaiste in Ireland – Mary Harney, Mary Coughlan,

Joan Burton and Frances Fitzgerald – so far, the top gig has been a man only department.

With two female presidents in the past Mary Robinson and Mary Mcaleese representing our island with pride and fervour, it’s about time we had a female Taoiseach.

We’re sick of the same old and the feeling is that as Sinn Fein escalate in stature we’re likely to take a chance on them.

My money is on Mary Lou to use her exclusion from these pathetic macho debates as an opportunity to thrive in a male-dominated landscape that we’re frankly sick of.

Mcdonald has her finger on the pulse, she has an empathetic nature that Leo will never master.

Although the Sinn Fein leader is not primed to be Taoiseach this time round, it’s looking likely that the Tanaiste position is hers for the taking if she plays her cards right.

We need strong women in politics who will invest in affordable childcare, who will show the dedicated leadership needed to close the gender pay and pension gaps, who will fight for social justice and help the voiceless.

We all love a good underdog story... and Mary Lou will be singing all the way to the polling stations.
