Jose lays Inter Milan over Dane

- BY HARRY PRATT

JOSE MOURINHO has taken an angry swipe at Inter Milan as Christian Eriksen’s move to the Italian club continues to drag on.

The Danish ace travelled with Spurs for yesterday’s FA Cup tie at Southampton – but then failed to even make the bench.

That suggests Eriksen’s £17million switch to Inter will be finalised in the next 48 hours – providing they meet Spurs’ asking price.

Spurs boss Mourinho, though, refused to confirm if it is imminent before hitting out at Inter for delaying the transfer.

The Portuguese coach rapped: “You can read what you want to read into it. I do not want to say anything other than this situation should not happen on the 25th of January.

“Eriksen, since I arrive, is behaving in a very professional way with me and the team.

“Tottenham is the last one to blame on this situation.

“But to be in a situation like this now, it’s just not nice. However, it is not Tottenham’s fault.”

Mourinho, whose side were held to a 1-1 draw at St Mary’s in the FA Cup fourth-round tie, was equally strong with his explanation on leaving England defender Danny Rose out of the squad.

The left-back is a target for Newcastle and, going by his manager’s comments last night, has no future in north London.

Mourinho went on: “He is not injured. It was my decision [not to pick him].

“My decision is based on performance and analysis.”

And asked if Rose will still be at Spurs in February, he snapped: “I don’t know.”
