Or bussed!

Donohoe, Josepha Madigan, Paul Kehoe, Joe Mchugh, Simon Harris and Heather Humphreys also confirmed they did not need the private driver.

The Irish Mirror asked every minister’s office this week to confirm whether they had used the bus or not.

Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy’s ministerial

Minister Josepha Madigan diary has an entry showing he got it from the pick-up point at Government Buildings to the Mansion House.

A spokeswoman for the Houses of the Oireachtas confirmed it arranged a coach for the Cabinet for the ridiculously short journey.

She said: “The advice to arrange Ministerial

Catherine Ardagh and Lisa Chambers transport was given by An Garda Siochana for security reasons. It was their request that, in order to ensure safe access for ministers through the exterior security cordon, it would be in everyone’s interest if there was one collection point and one point of entry through the cordon. “On that advice, transport was arranged. “It was on these grounds, and the long standing tradition that matters of security in Leinster House are not disclosed, this part of the request was refused.”

The part of the request that was declined was for further information on the bus, what type it was, who provided the service and how much it was.

The Dail centenary celebration in the Mansion House was a Fine Gael-led Government initiative.

It was a glitzy affair with video, stage lighting, music – including a harpist – and catering. It lasted for just over two hours.
