The Skellig in Dingle is nice if you prefer the hotel experience, there are amazing houses to rent right along the peninsula and there is a very high standard of B&B, there’s camping and glamping. The county covers all bases. What makes it unique? The people of Kerry really make the experience. They are warm and welcoming and the red carpet is rolled out for tourists right around the county. ready to enjoy themselves, they love to mix with holidaymakers and have a few pints with them. You won’t find that anywhere else. Best beaches? There is a lovely place called Coumeenoole beach, there is Ventry beach and further north you have Ballydavid beach. There is a massive long beach in Muirioch, the county is blessed with amazing seafronts. The hidden treasure? There is something around every corner, whether it is a spectacular view, a great restaurant, a local pint or some unbelievable story. Kerry is full of celebs, even Mark Hamill was walking around during the filming of Star Wars and it was like, “How are you, Mark. How are you keeping?” Sure he ended up behind the bar pulling pints in Portmagee. Tralee is often overlooked but there are lovely hotels like Ballygarry House and Ballyseede Castle. There is also the Aquadome which is great for kids and the Tralee Wetlands as well. If you want to go shopping, it is home to all the big shops as well.
