KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK , HENDO Solskjaer fancies new ‘Treble’

-

KICK-OFF AT TOTTENHAM

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has ordered another United ‘Treble’.

The boss – a hero of the Reds’ 1999 Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup triumph – wants his players to hit the ground running when they resume the season at Tottenham next Friday.

United have designs on a top-four finish and are heavily involved in both the Europa League and the FA Cup – and Solskjaer wants to land the lot.

He said: “We are not going to discard one or any of the competitions – or prioritise one above another. We’ve got the league to go for and we’re in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, so there’s a good chance there.

“And there is also the chance to finish with the Europa League. So, if we can finish with the same momentum that we had before, we could end up with trophies. The start will be decisive because it’s almost like going into a European Championships or World Cup. You live together, you’re close together, you’re in the bubble. “If we can create the momentum again, it will be massive.” United were unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions when lockdown came – and they have Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba returning from injury.

With £47million midfielder Bruno Fernandes hitting top form, following his arrival from Porto in January, it feels like the dawn of a new era at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer, however, has gone back to the basics set down by Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson to plot United’s future.

He added: “I feel very encouraged by the signs. When you have everyone fit and training, you can see the potential of this group.”
