weeks into lockdown a viewer said star had hair done on black market

on. They said they sent the video to all their friends to show that I wasn’t lying.

“I haven’t done any new style with my hair, it’s just straightened within an inch of its life.

“Remember when girls used to use irons, lie their hair flat on ironing boards and burn the crap out of it? That is what I have done to my hair.”

Muireann has also been watching videos online to do her make-up which she is really starting to embrace, describing it as “cathartic”.

She revealed: “I didn’t know what I was doing because I have had the luxury of these fantastic women taking care of me every day.

“I watched a few tutorials and I have started to really enjoy it. I am not as quick as a make-up artist and putting it on can take up much more of the day than you would expect. I get why people find make-up soothing and cathartic and why they might put on a full face. It is very calming once you understand the basic geometry behind it.”

However, one thing she hated on the show was doing the cooking segment in the kitchen in the absence of live chefs.

Muireann explained: “It is so lovely that the chefs are back in because that means we don’t have to cook on television anymore, which is a blessed relief.

“I absolutely hated it. Most people say, ‘It’s just cooking, what is the big deal?’

“Firstly, I can’t cook and then you are trying to listen to somebody on Skype 200km away from you so you can follow their recipe – and you’re trying to present a show at the same time.

“Our floor manager Darren is a brilliant cook and he had to help me during the advert break.

“But my mother was mortified, she was actually so embarrassed about me being in a kitchen.

“The messages and memes I was getting from my friends were terrible, I was like, ‘Lads, stop, you are just being mean now’.

“It was a constant barrage of people taking the p*** out of me.”
