Casesrelisted from missing to murdered

-

THE missing persons cases of Jojo Dullard, Deirdre Jacob and Trevor Deeley have been upgraded to murder in recent years.

Student Deirdre, 18, vanished just yards from her Newbridge Co Kildare home in July 1998.

And bank worker Trevor, 20, disappeared after a works night out in December 2000. He was last seen on Dublin’s Haddington Road.

However retired detectives who worked on cold cases believe a number of missing women investigations should be upgraded to murder.

These include Annie Mccarrick, 26, Fiona Pender, 25, Fiona Sinnott, 19, Ciara Breen, 17, and possibly several others.

The case of student Ms Mccarrick who vanished on March 26, 1993, is one of the most highprofile investigations ever carried out by gardai.

Originally from New York, she was studying in Ireland and living in Dublin.

There were reported sightings of her outside Johnnie Fox’s pub and at a post office in Co Wicklow. Fiona Pender from Tullamore, Co Offaly, went missing on August 23, 1996. She was seven months pregnant at the time and was last seen leaving her apartment by her boyfriend John Thompson.

Fiona Sinnott, from Rosslare, Co Wexford, went missing on February 8, 1998. Her family believe they know the identity of her killer.

Eva Brennan, 39, from Rathgar in south Dublin, went missing on July 25, 1993. She disappeared after leaving her parents’ house.

Imelda Keenan, 22, from Mountmellick, Co Laois, went missing on January 3, 1994.

The last confirmed sighting was at Lombard Street in Dublin.

Teenager Ciara Breen, from Dundalk went missing on February 13, 1997, and was last seen by her mother Bernadette, who died two years ago.
