One of Bristol’s impressive examples of Art Nouveau architecture, the former Edward Everard printworks opens in March as the Clayton Hotel Bristol City in the Old City district. The four-star 255-room hotel in Broad Street has retained the Grade Ii-listed Doulton-tiled façade as its grand entrance – it’s said this is where William Morris had some of his famous wallpapers and textiles printed. Inside, history meets contemporary design starting with the stunning glass atrium reception area and dramatic staircase to the vibrant Everards Restaurant and Bar serving seasonal dishes featuring locally sourced produce. Doubles start at £85 a nigh. claytonhotelbristolcity.com
Santorini is set to welcome its first Curio Collection by Hilton property in spring when Sea Breeze Santorini Beach Resort lands on the south coast of the glitzy Greek isle. The boutique hotel draws inspiration from the iconic Cycladic blue and whitewashed architecture in its use of natural stone and wood. The hotel has its own beach along with two pools, and each of the 37 rooms come complete with a private terrace and a hot tub or pool.
There’s two restaurants and two bars on site, while Vlichada marina and its seafood tavernas, are just over a mile away.
