VIRGINIA Giuffre last night said she was “disappointed” after one of Jeffrey Epstein’s pals was found hanged in his cell.

Model agency boss Jean-luc Brunel was held over alleged attacks on Prince Andrew’s accuser Ms Giuffre.

He was found dead in La Sante jail, Paris, yesterday.

Mum-of-three Virginia, 38, wrote on Twitter: “The suicide of Jean-luc Brunel, who abused me and countless girls and young women, ends another chapter. I am disappointed that I wasn’t able to face him in a final trial to hold him accountable, but gratified I was able to testify in person last year to keep him in prison.” A jail source said of Brunel, 76: “A night patrol found his lifeless body at 1am. A judicial enquiry has been launched. “Early evidence points to suicide.” Ms Giuffre claimed in legal papers that Brunel, who denied wrongdoing, had “sexual relations” with her several times between the ages of 16 and 19. She also accused him of procuring more than 1,000 women and girls for Epstein, who was found hanged in a prison cell in New York in 2019 while on sex charges.

Brunel, who founded model agency MC2, was detained in 2020 while trying to board a plane to Senegal. He was suspected of providing girls to Epstein and his friends. Victims allegedly included three 12-year-olds flown from Paris to America so they could be abused by Epstein as “a birthday present”.

Brunel was also friends with Ghislaine Maxwell, 60 – the British socialite facing 65 years in jail after being convicted in New York of sex trafficking for her former lover Epstein.

Maxwell’s brother Ian yesterday said he now “fears for her safety” at a the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

He said: “It’s really shocking. Another death by hanging in a high-security prison. My reaction is one of total shock and bewilderment.”
