RORY IS STAR OF THE SHOW

-

Wexford 1-22 2-12 THIS was a game that showed Rory O’connor at his best as he inspired Wexford to a hard-earned, seven-point victory over a battling Offaly outfit.

Having been the in-form player through this league campaign, O’connor (inset) turned on the style with an immaculate opening half as he struck 1-7, 1-1 from play.

He continued his scoring exploits through the second period, adding a further four points as the homeside eventually shook off a dogged Offaly challenge.

But Offaly will be more than pleased with this display as their injury struck side were still very much in contention up to the closing 10 minutes when they trailed by just three points, 1-17 to 2-11,

but there was little they could do as a flurry of late points saw the home side maintain their 100% record and now looking forward to a top of the table clash with Cork in two weeks time.
