BALE’S SHOCK CARDIFF MOVE FOR WORLD CUP
Bale could end his glittering career in Wales
EXCLUSIVE BY JOHN RICHARDSON GARETH BALE could make a sensational move to Championship side Cardiff City – if Wales reach the World Cup finals. The 32-year-old Wales skipper is prepared to snub interest from the Premier League and Europe if it means he will be in better physical and mental shape for Qatar in November. His contract with Real Madrid comes to an end in the summer when he will become a free agent. Any final decision on his future is likely to be delayed until after Wales know their World Cup fate following the qualifying play-off final against either Scotland or Ukraine. If Wales miss out, then there is a strong possibility that Bale will call time on a glittering career. But if they reach their first World Cup finals since 1958, then Bale will be desperate to play on in readiness for the trip to Qatar in November. And because of his love for Wales, money won’t come into it especially after his £600,000-a-week package at the Bernabeu. That gives his hometown club Cardiff City the chance to pull off an incredible coup by signing the Welsh superstar.
