Memorial to celebrate the life of Grease actress Olivia

- BY MIRROR REPORTER

A MEMORIAL for Olivia Newton-john will take place this weekend.

The tribute will include a special appearance by her former Grease co-star John Travolta.

Actress Olivia passed away aged 73 in August 2022, after being diagnosed with cancer for a third time.

The Australian was diagnosed with the illness three times in 1992, 2013 and, for a final time, in 2017.

Fans will get the chance to celebrate the life of Olivia at her state memorial.

Those who are attending have been asked to wear “a touch of orange” which was Olivia’s favourite colour.

Channel Nine’s David Campbell is hosting the memorial in Melbourne later today.

It aims to be a fitting tribute to the Grease star’s sixty years as a recording artist and actress as well as her work for cancer research.

Olivia’s husband John Easterling, 70, her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 37, and niece Tottie Goldsmith, 60, will present tributes at the ceremony.

Actress Delta Goodrem, 38, will perform a medley of the star’s hits at the event in her native Australia.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, 59, will also be among the guests at the emotional event.

Olivia’s Grease co-star Travolta, 69, will join the event via video link.

Fans will also hear singer Bumpy perform a song by Olivia called Grace and Gratitude.

Olivia’s health and charity service will be recognised by tributes from Professor Mattias Ernst, and Debbie Shiell, from the ONJ Cancer Wellness and Research Centre.

In January, Olivia’s husband John told how every day with her was a “bit of magic”.

He also said she was “the most courageous and compassionate woman” he had ever met.
